When I first saw this lathe in ads almost 20 years ago, I was completely skeptical that it would be useful at all. But because I paint so much lace on ornaments, I finally broke down. I ordered one to test (I test all products before putting them on the web site)... I had my first ornament in the vise when it occurred to me that this is BRILLIANT!
It's a lathe!
It's a vise!
It's an extra pair of hands!
And... dun dun DUN... we've added our exclusive mini project platform! It's PERFECT!
Try it with the artist buddy for extra leverage, angling, and control.
Dimensions: 14 1/2"L x 4"W x 4"H will hold up to 4" diameter ornament and 8 1/2" long object.

As a lathe it works great for small lightweight objects. Anything heavier than the plastic lathe is itself, it is not stable. For the cost, I think i will make one out of wood.

This tool is so handy! I work with egg shaped gourds alot and this is really like a third hand. I can make straight lines and banding, or add some clay to my design without it rolling around on the table. It also holds it so most of the surface is available to me to work on (unlike sitting it in cup). Wonderful tool!

I am a 76 year old crafter making Christmas ornaments and holding small projects is a bit more difficult than it used to be. Received the craft lathe last week and I LOVE IT! It makes holding the ornaments and creating small details so much easier & quicker. My ornaments are mostly decoupaged paper & fabric with small details added so using the lathe helps keep my projects cleaner from glue and paint. Can't thank you enough for your great video and the very quick response to my order.

Thank you so much for a terrific demonstration using the craft lathe. Giving such great tips on the use and techniques for painting ornaments makes you a teacher "par excellance". You have taken the difficulty out of design.

I have owned my craft lathe for several years now and have never regretted the purchase. I have personally used mine for painting a variety of ornaments including nutcrackers and recycled lightbulbs, small treasure boxes (round, square, and hexagon), wooden bangle bracelets, and even use it to paint some of my smaller decorative birdhouses. It's obviously an awesome tool for painting even lines on and around a surface like a round ornament but it also works to do the same on other surface shapes as well. As already mentioned it gives you that much needed 3rd hand that most of us can use when painting.

I bought this lathe, skeptical too, but I soon fell in love with it for painting bulbs, bobbles, ornaments, candlesticks, and just about anything that you need 3 hands for that will fit in it. I would recommend this for anyone who paints items like these, and it's totally great for painting eggs.
